Concerned about Mold?

Are you concerned about mold?

Buying a Home

If you’re in the process of buying a home, then you should definitely take advantage of the FREE MOLD ASSESSMENT included with every home inspection performed by Housebusters Inspection Services.

What does this free mold assessment entail?

  • We inspect the home to determine if conditions are favorable for mold growth (i.e., moisture intrusion or high humidity).
  • We search for signs of visible biological growth that could be mold.
  • We provide advice about how our clients can make cost-effective repairs to reduce the possibility of mold growth.

Only if we believe mold is present will we suggest that clients consider having indoor air sampling performed (extra cost).

Owning a Home

If you own a home and are concerned about mold, we suggest you consider scheduling indoor air sampling to determine if mold is growing inside your home.   Our indoor air sampling will compare indoor air quality to an outdoor air control sample to determine if mold is growing inside the home or is present in the environment outside the home and infiltrating the home through normal air exchange.  Our air sampling protocol provides homeowners with a detailed report (click to see a sample report) about the types and levels of mold present in the air inside a home. We will explain everything found in this detailed report in easy-to-understand language!

What if Mold Is Found?

Even if mold is found, Housebusters will provide our valued clients with recommendations to remediate the issue.  In most cases, homeowners can clean up mold themselves, as per instructions from the EPA. This can save our clients thousands of dollars in costly mold remediation. If mold is naturally occurring in the outside environment and entering the home through normal air infiltration, then we may make other recommendations, such as changing the filter in the home’s HVAC system and running the system’s blower continuously to improve indoor air quality.
