Answering the ‘why’ and the ‘how’

Most home inspectors answer one basic question in their inspections. Because of their limited experience and training, they answer the question, “What was found?”

For most inspectors, the inspection follows a simple checklist of issues and systems to examine. They only answer the “what.”

Answering “why?” and “how?”

Housebusters also answers the question of “What was found?” with our inspections. But we go the extra mile for our clients because of our extensive construction experience and training. We also attempt to answer “Why this occurred?” as well as “How can this be addressed?” Answering the “why” and the “how” provides extra value to our clients and helps to save them money. Below are a few examples.

A recent client wasn’t surprised when we found mold growing in the attic. But she was amazed that we addressed why this was occurring. We also addressed how the issue could be addressed in the most cost-effective manner.

Housebusters provides a free mold assessment with every home inspection. But we also go the extra mile to address why mold may be growing and how to address any issues we might find in the most cost-effective manner. For example, most homeowners can clean up small areas of mold themselves, as per EPA guidelines.

If one of our clients expresses a desire to add square footage to the home in the future, we can provide sage advice. Because of our decades of construction experience, we can offer suggestions about how to add on to the home in the most cost-effective and energy-efficient way.

Unlike many inspectors, we strongly encourage our clients to attend their home inspections. Feel free to ask any questions!
